During the cooler months of late fall, you may enjoy the dropping temperatures. But for
those warm-weather lovers who are less than thrilled to see the sun go, why
not consider a trip to the Caribbean?
According to Kevin Matier, the assistant director of Caribbean marketing for
GoGo Worldwide Vacations, fall is the
value season in the Caribbean. "You can save up to 50% in the off
season," Matier says. "A lot of airlines run sales in the fall."
Air Jamaica is one that frequently features
special deals for travel in the fall. They offer other perks, such as
non-stop flights from Los Angeles, Phoenix, Philadelphia, New York, Atlanta
and other large cities. Their free stop-over program also allows travelers
booked for another Caribbean destination to stop in Jamaica for a short
visit and then continue to their final destination at no additional charge.
Another way to save money on a Caribbean vacation is by staying at an
all-inclusive resort. Club Med has a number of
villages in the Caribbean and offers packages that include your room, three
meals a day (including beer and wine at lunch and dinner), most sports,
entertainment and activities for children at their family villages.
All-Inclusive Vacations offers discount
vacations, mostly to Sandals and
SuperClubs resorts in Jamaica, the Bahamas and St. Lucia.
But it is important to know what you're getting when you book an
all-inclusive vacation. Everything is not always included and each of these
resorts has a different atmosphere, ranging from family-friendly to
couples-only. For tips on what to look out for when booking a vacation,

For those who prefer to plan their own Caribbean getaway, one of the smaller
islands may be a better fit. Fodor's
offers information on accommodations, dining and entertainment on
St. Lucia,
Antigua,
Barbados and
Trinidad and Tobago.
Each of these Caribbean destinations has its own specialties or featured activities. If
you are looking for something specific, such as scuba diving, golf or a
vibrant nightlife, choose carefully and be sure to do your research. Here
are a few of the top spots for the most popular Caribbean activities.
