Zihuatanejo, Mexico
When travelers think of Mexico's Pacific Coast, they probably think of Acapulco. But there's a gem of
a destination just 140 miles from Acapulco and very close to the international airport in Ixtapa.
It's called Zihuatanejo (or simply Zihua), and it offers calm bay waters instead of powerful tides,
leisurely beaches instead of throngs of tourists.
Aside from lounging on the beach, you can
spend your days fishing for marlin, golfing and dining at fine restaurants. Want to know more about
Zihuatanejo? Check out this visitors' guide.
